Emilie Sippora Prins (also written as Emily Zippora), was a daughter of Liepman Jacob Prins and Elisabeth Schaap. She was a sister of Lewis Prins, who was married to Ernestine Loewenthal and later to Esther Spier. The "Houtmarkt" was a square in the Jewish quarter in Amsterdam. It was originally named 'Deventer Houtmarkt'. In the 19th century the name was changed tinto "Jonas Daniël Meijerplein", after Jonas Daniël Meijer (1780-1834), the first Jewish lawyer in The Netherlands.
