Werner Jany wordt meerdere malen genoemd in de biografie die Stefan Gurtner in 2012 publiceerde over een oude vriend van hem uit Breslau, Werner Guttentag. Ze zaten ook samen in het werkdorp Wieringermeer, maar Guttentag wist eind 1939 nog te ontkomen naar Bolivia en werd daar uitgever.
