Mozes Aron Izaäk de Groot was a cattle dealer since 1923. From 1923 until 1936 his business was established on Julianastraat 15 in Zwolle. From the end of 1936 until September 1942 it was located on Wilhelminastraat 3. In accordance with § 7 VO 48/1941 (Nazi regulation to remove Jews from the trade and industry) his company was liquidated in October 1941 and dissolved in November 1942.

On behalf of the Sicherheitspolizei in Zwolle, the police commissioner requested that 44 Jews suspected of having violated Nazi regulations by temporarily changing their place of residence without the required authorization be located, detained and brought to trial. This description referred to Jews who had gone into hiding. Mozes Aron Izaäk de Groot, a cattle dealer, was one of these 44 people in hiding from Zwolle.
