About Comprecht Bernard Sanders

Comprecht Bernard Sanders was a son of Jochem Sanders and Mathilde Themans. He married 18 November 1930 in Enschede to Rosalie Mansfeld, a daughter of Herman Mansfeld and Helena de Leeuw. He had also a brother Bernard.

Comprecht Bernard Sanders (better known as Gerard Sanders) was secretary of the Jewish Council in Enschede. He advised Jews to go into hiding.

In the house that previously belonged to the director of the Stoomweverij Nijverheid (part of the Van Gelderen family business) at 2 Nijverheidstraat in Enschede, a commemorative plaque was mounted with the names of staff members who did not survive the war. It names eight Jews, including Comprecht Bernard Sanders, who was there the procurator.
