de Hond and his family

Before they went into hiding, Clara de Hond-Stodel and her husband entrusted a lot of jewelry to a family that was mixed Jewish and non-Jewish in Amsterdam. People were hiding there as well, and during a raid by the SD Schaap group on 9 February 1944 the jewelry of Clara de Hond-Stodel and her husband was confiscated. Clara de Hond-Stodel and her husband were arrested that same month in February 1944. The husband survived the war.

The archive of the Stichting Sieraden-Comité contains an itemized list of the jewelry concerned, as well as statement taken under oath.
