Introduction Community

We would like to introduce our new Jewish Monument Community website. It is an interactive website with many new features. As a user of the Digital Monument to the Jewish Community in the Netherlands we like to inform you about some important changes.

On the website you can post information related to Jewish life in the Netherlands before, during and after World War II. You can establish family relationships, post articles and add photographs. Information that previously fell beyond the scope of the Digital Monument, for example about yourself and your personal interests, can now be published on the Jewish Monument Community website. All information posted is immediately visible on the internet. Through the Community website you can also contact other users and build a network of friends. In this way a dynamic living community will be created in conjunction with the Digital Monument.

It’s not possible anymore to mail to the Digital Monument if you have additional information. You are now welcome to upload the information yourself on the Community. You don’t need the editors of the Digital Monument anymore to do so. The Digital Monument will remain online. Mails that were received in the last months will be published as usual.

Joining the Community is easy. As a member you will receive regular invitations to events where you can meet other users of the site. The next meetings will be held in the Jewish Historical Museum on Friday, the 24th of September and on Sunday the 10th of October. New members and experienced users of the site, both are very welcome to join. There is an instruction about how to use the community, an opportunity to ask questions, and the opportunity to share experiences with other users. You can register via the calendar on the website of the Community.
