The Ede police commissioner requested that Ernst Lucas, a merchant, and his wife Natalie Intrator and their son Robert Stephen be located, detained and brought to trial. They lived at 15 Hullenberglaan in Bennekom (community of Ede) and had changed their place of residence without obtaining the required authorization. This description referred to Jews who had gone into hiding.

Ernst Lucas werd geboren op 27 juni 1901 in Soest, Duitsland. Zijn ouders waren Selig Lucas en Bertha Stern. Ernst was een afgestudeerde econoom. Op 12 december 1934 trouwde hij met Natalie Intrator in Leipzig. In 1934 ontvluchtte hij Duitsland en verhuisde hij naar Rotterdam aan de Beatrijsstraat 30.
