About Lothar Halpern

On 4 May 1932 the 'Ezer Jatom' association opened a Jewish orphanage at 66 Pletterijstraat in The Hague. On 6 March 1943 the Nazis removed the children and the staff from the orphanage. They included several German refugee children, such as Lothar Halpern.

Lothar Halpern

Lothar came to the Netherlands with his older brother on November 28th. 1938. First they stayed in the quarantine in Zeeburg, then in Den Dolder. Lothar's brother moved in with a family, but Lothar went to Huis ten Vijver and in June 1940 to the orphanage in The Hague.
Lothar's mother was Hannie Gostinksky, born on May 22nd, 1897 in Krosniewice, Poland. She perished at an unknown date and place. …

Vluchteling uit Duitsland

Berthold Halpern kwam met zijn jongere broer, Lothar, in 1938 naar Nederland.

In 1939 ging Berthold bij joodse mensen wonen in Utrecht (familie Lessing op de Lange Elisabethstraat), terwijl Lothar terechtkwam in een Joods weeshuis in Den Haag. Berthold overleefde de oorlog door onderduik. Zie verder: http://joodsmonument.blogspot.nl
