Student 1st Montessori school

Nanette was a student of the 1st Montessori school at the Corellistraat in Amsterdam. A memorial plaque in the school commemorates Nanette and other victims of the Holocaust.

Her name also appears on one of the suitcases of the artwork 'In Memoriam' by Willem Volkersz.

From the diary of Anne Frank

Nanette and Anne Frank were in the same class at the Jewish Lyceum. Anne wrote about Nanette in her diary on June 16th of 1942:

This double portrait was made in 1941 and depicts Nanette (Nannie) van Praag Sigaar and her younger brother Herman Jack. Their father, Salomon van Praag works for an Insurance company and their mother, Sophie Barklo, is a teacher. The family lives in the Frans van Mierissstraat in Amsterdam.
