Scope and content

This sub-unit contains individual documentation from Concentration Camp Buchenwald, arranged by the ITS into personal files. The first page of each file is an envelope created by the ITS, This envelope contains personal data on the individual and a listing of the document types contained in the file. It can also include an ITS inquiry file number (T/D-number).

Administrative History

Please note that while the majority of the material in the files comprises original documentation from the period of this camp's existence as a Nazi persecution site, the compilation of the files was carried out by the ITS from various sources it holds.

Simon en zijn broer Hartog behoorden tot de mannen die bij de razzia in Amsterdam op 22 februari 1941 werden opgepakt. Op 28 februari 1941 kwamen zij aan in Buchenwald. Volgens de overlijdensakte overleed Simon om 0.55 uur aan falen van het hart bij maag- en darmstoornissen. De vermelde doodsoorzaak is waarschijnlijk niet waar, er werden doodsoorzaken verzonnen om te verbergen wat er daadwerkelijk in Buchenwald gaande was.

Nb. zijn broer Maurits werd bij de razzia in juni 1941 opgepakt.
