Hartog Trijtel was a son of Joseph Trijtel and Naatje Legrand. He married 6 March 1912 in Rotterdam Roosje Hertog, a daughter of Nathan Philip Hertog and Sientje Lusse. The couple had five children, namely Joseph, Nathan, Abraham, Sientje and Samuel. All children of Hartog and Roosje were already killed by the nazis at the end of September 1942. Hartog and his wife Roosje were registered in transit camp Westerbork on 12 Augustus 1942, from where they have been deported to Auschwitz on 24 Augustus and where they have been killed eventually too on 30 September 1942.
