Joseph Velleman was a son of Salomon Velleman and Leentje Pais. He was married in Amsterdam on 29 May 1912 to Esther van Kreeveld, a daughter of Benjamin van Kreeveld and Aaltje Cohen. In December 1938 however, Joseph Velleman became an inhabitant of Het Apeldoornse Bos, from where he was deported to Auschwitz on 23 January 1943 and there has been killed.
Joseph and Esther had a son Salomon who was born in 1913.
