Max Ringer was a diamond polisher. He was a son of Aron Ringer and Paula Selinger and was married to Celina Beder (also known as Cilly). The couple had one daughter Irene, who was born in the transit camp Westerbork.

Of Max Ringer and Celina Beder (daughter of Symche Izak Beder and Sara Szeindel Kornmehl), the wedding book and ketubah remain. Their marriage took place on 8 May 1940 in The Hague.
