Irene Alice Mahler was the daughter-in-law of Abraham Benjamins and Sophia Arend.
She married on 9 July 1941 in Rotterdam. She stayed with her husband in Westerbork from 3 October 1942 to 25 February 1944. Her son Abraham Moritz was born there. At the end of February 1944 the transport to Theresienstadt followed, where the family stayed together until the end of September 1944. First Irene's husband was deported to Auschwitz, later she was deported herself together with her son.
