About Salomon Meijer Stad

Salomon Meijer Stad was a son of Meijer Salomon Stad and Sara Schaap. On 28 September 1910 he married in Rotterdam a roman-catholic woman and had two children with her: a daughter and a son.

Salomon Meijer Stad was born into a family with in total eight children; one sister died in 1901, less than two years old and one brother left for the USA in 1917. All his other siblings, namely Hendrika, David, Anna, Maurits, Isaac en Barend were killed in the Shoah. His mother too, she was killed in Sobibor but his father passed away in Rotterdam and was interred there in July 1940.

According his registration card of the Jewish Council, he was sent to Camp Vught, from where he was deported on 15 November 1943 to Auschwitz. There, on 31 January 1944 he has lost his life.
