About Bertram Polak

Bertram Polak lived with his father Max Henri (Hans) Polak, his stepmother Charlotte Elias amd his sisters (Florentine, Leonie and Louise) on this address Prof. Dondersstraat 77, Tilburg. His father fled to England with his sisters and mrs Elias in May 1940. Later they went to the USA.
Bertram Polak was a soldier then and couldn't go with them. He moved to the Spoorlaan in june 1941. He was busy with his friend Alfred de Wit to make a plan to flee Holland from Dordecht, but was betrayed and arrested December 9 1941. From the prison in Scheveningen to Kamp Amersfoort and from there he was deported July 16 1942 to Auschwitz. He was murdered a month later.
