Lion Jacobs was a son of Joseph Lion Jacobs and Betje Cohen. He maried on 25 November 1885 in Amsterdam to Mietje Ossendrijver (born 18 May 1866), but who passed away 17 October 1918.
From this marriage, eleven children were born: Elisabeth, Rachel, Esther (survived the war, she was married to 447555), Cornelia, Hanna, Bertha, Jozeph and Salomon. Two children have died already at a very young age and two daughters have survived the Holocaust.
One of his grandchildren, who also has been killed during the Holocaust was Willy Swart, a daughter of Mozes Swart and his daughter Esther..
On 9 April 1919 Lion Jacobs remarried to Rosette Agsteribbe. They both lived at the Joodse Invalide.
