Jozef van Tijn and his family

Jozef van Tijn was married to Leentje Nieweg. They had a son called Comprecht (nicknamed Co). The family lived at 3 Javastraat in Assen. Comprecht was a butcher's assistant at the Jewish butcher shop of the family Elshof at the Rolderstraat in Assen.

Jozef van Tijn played for the Achilles football club in Assen. His name and those of seven other Jewish club members feature on a monument placed on the sports complex of this club in the Marsdijk.
