Louis Spier was a son of Wolf Spier and Sientje Polak. He married Trijntje Davidson in 1918 in Rotterdam. They had a daughter Jenny Trui. Trijntje Davidson died in childbirth. Louis Spier married again in 1932 in Amsterdam to Betje de Lange.
