A series remains of 33 postcards and letters from Benjamin Leo Wessels, first from Amsterdam (dated from 13 October 1942 through 26 September 1943) and later from Westerbork (dated 3 November 1943). There is also a drawing of the house where Ben Leo Wessels lived with his parents (A92 Stationsweg, Oostvoorne).

Izaäk Wessels, son of Nathan Levie Wessels and Carolina de Wit, got married on 25 May 1921 in 's Hertogenbosch to Antje van Dijk, daughter of Francis van Dijk and Clara van Dijk. The couple had three children, of which Nathan Benjamin (nickname Nan) and Benjamin Leo (nickname Ben) did not survive the war. Ben was at school in the state secondary school in Hellevoetsluis.
