Annelies Maijer-Cohen committed suicide on the 15th of May, 1940 together with her husband Walter Maijer and their daughter Marianne Maijer in their house at the Anna van Burenlaan 51, Haarlem.

The family was burried at the Jewish cemetery in Haarlem.
