The Jewish Monument does not mention a place of death and/or a date of death, if there are no legal documents, such as a death certificate or a mention of death in the Dutch Government Gazette, which in many cases is a legal date of death and not the actual date of death .

Nevertheless, it can happen that it is known with a high probability where and when someone actually died.

About Vrouwtje van West and her daughter Dina.

Vrouwtje van West was a daughter of Hartog van West and Bloeme van West-van West. She was born in Amsterdam on 1 May 1901. The family then lived at Valkenburgerstraat 184 from where she left for Antwerp on 13 August 1920. Vrouwtje was a seamstress by trade and was unmarried. Shortly afterwards her arrival in Antwerp, Vrouwtje left for Brussels, where her daughter Dina van West was born on 14 April…

Ten onrechte wordt vermeld dat het geboorteadres 2e Boerhaavestraat 13 is. Vrouwtje is geboren in de Valkenburgerstraat 189 waar het gezin van West sinds 1 of 7 februari 1896 woont. Daarna verhuisd het gezin West op 30 mei 1905 naar de Blasiusstraat 121 . De 2e Boerhaavestraat is pas vanaf 20 juni 1931, dus Vrouwtje heeft daar nooit gewoond. Conform haar geboorte akte is zij geboren in de Valkenburgerstraat 184 te Amsterdam.
Volgens Yad Vashem is zij op 29-08-1942 vanuit België op transport gesteld naar Auschwitz.

Oók volgens Yad Vashem werd zij met Konvooi VI vanuit Mechelen naar Auschwitz gedeporteerd. Dat 6e konvooi vertrok vanuit Mechelen op 27 Augustus 1942 (en NIET op 29 Augustus, zoals Yad Vashem vermeld). Zie verder de tekst b…
