Rudolf came to the Netherland with a Kindertransport on March 30th, 1939. First he stayed at the quarantine facility in Rotterdam, after which he was moved to the Achterklooster in Rotterdam, the orphanage in Gouda, quarantine Zeeburg in Amsterdam, Oostelijke Handelskade 12 in Amsterdam.
