The funeral records at the Jewish cemetery in Gouda reveal that Samuel Jacob Vroman was buried there.

Samuel Jacob Vroman en zijn echtgenote Anna Vromen hadden twee zonen: Jaap (1913, geoloog) en Leo (1915, bioloog en dichter). Beiden overleefden de oorlog. Jaap door begin 1940 naar Palestina te gaan, Leo door op 14 mei 1940 te vluchten via Londen en Kaapstad naar Indie. Leo leeft nog en woont in de VS.

Samuel Jacob Vroman studeerde van 1895 tot 1909 aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam. In 1895 schreef hij zich in voor de studie artsenijbereikunde (farmacie). Op 16 december 1909  legde hij met goed gevolg het doctoraalexamen Natuurkunde af.
