Sally Gersons was a son of Levi Gersons, a textile waste merchant, and Leentje de Jonge. He was married to Davida Gersons, daughter of Salomon Gersons and Aaltje Franco.

According to Yad Vashem 1 , Marion Gersons was born to Salomon (Sally) and Davida Gersons. The child was taken in by family friends: the non-Jewish couple Mudde, who were eventually betrayed and arrested for hiding her.
