Tussen De West en de polder

Thelma Esther Polak, oudste dochter van de Surinaamse arts Maurice Polak en zijn vrouw Estelle Arrias, is het enige slachtoffer van de Holocaust dat op het eiland Saba werd geboren.

Vader districtarts
Haar vader, Maurice Samuel (Semuel) Polak, werd op 27 maart 1887 in Paramaribo geboren. Hij was vermoedelijk een zoon van Samuel Maurits Polak en Elizabeth Gomperts en had twee broers en twee zussen.…
