Married on 24 July 1942 the son of Abraham de Jong and Sara Pop, Leendert Philip de Jong. Sara was murdered in Auschwitz, 30 september 1942.

The German caption reads: Die Anzahl der Holländer, die durch den Blitzvormarsch in deutscher Gefangenschaft gerieten ist gewaltig. Hier warten Gefangenen in einer kleinen holländische Stadt auf den Abtransport und ein deutscher Panzer fahrt durch Ihr “Spalier”

Translated as: The number of Dutch soldiers who ended up in German captivity as a result of the lightning-fast advance is enormous. Here prisoners waiting for transport in a small Dutch town and a German tank drives through their "guard of honor"

The death certificate made out on 26 September 1942 in Auschwitz (Kasernestrasse ) for Leender Philip de Jong, which states that he has died there on 17 September 1942 on 9.15 p.m. due to a so-called  "intestinal catarrh and weakness of the hart"
