About Nathan Gans

Nathan Gans went into hiding at the home of an elder sister whose husband was not Jewish. Since Nathan found it difficult to live apart from his parents, he decided to report to the authorities.

David Gans and his family

David Gans and Esther Lisser had eleven children. Four of them survived the war. The other seven and their partners died, as did twenty-four grandchildren. One of their descendants wrote this poem in their memory:

Memorial
Sixty years after we were saved, you do not even have a grave.
And after years of misery, you were erased from history.
