Andries Ephraim

Both the sons of Isidore Ephraim and Lea Vos, Salomon Jacques and Andries Ephraim, were called-up in July 1942 for the so-called “provision of additional work in Germany” the “Arbeitseinsatz”. They reported both in Westerbork and were deported together to Auschwitz on 21 July 1942. Salomon Jacques was a butcher by profession and Andries was a bookbinder.

According to the "Sterbebücher" (death records) of Auschwitz, Andries Ephraim was murdered there on 17 September 1942. This date differs from the official date of death as determined by the Dutch Ministry of Justice after the war.
