The fate of Salomon Jacques Ephraim and his brother Andries.

Both the sons of Isidore Ephraim and Lea Vos, Salomon Jacques and Andries Ephraim, were called-up in July 1942 for the so-called “provision of additional work in Germany” the “Arbeitseinsatz”. They reported both in Westerbork and were deported together to Auschwitz on 21 July 1942. Salomon Jacques was a butcher by profession and Andries was a bookbinder.

In dit boek van Guus Luijters staat ook Andries Ephraim vermeldt. Hij is met het 3e transport vanuit Westerbork naar Auschwitz gedeporteerd op dinsdag 21 juli 1942. Totaal werden 931 mensen met dit transport gedeporteerd, van wie 250 kinderen.

The date of death of Andries Ephraim.

According to the "Sterbebücher" (death records) of Auschwitz, Andries Ephraim was murdered there on 17 September 1942. This date differs from the official date of death as determined by the Dutch Ministry of Justice after the war. For the time being, the website joodsmonument.nl, list only the dates of death, as published at the time in the "Staatscourant" by the Ministry of Justice.
