Karl Ivan Hans Neukircher was married and had three children. One of his sons, Willem Robert, was mentally handicapped due to meningitis. He was hospitalized at 'Het Zonnehuis' in Zeist. Karl Ivan Hans Neukircher died in The Hague in 1941. His wife and two other children fled to Switzerland, where they stayed until the end of the war.
