Het echtpaar Huisman probeerde in de tweede helft van augustus 1942 Nederland te ontvluchten, samen met de 5 kinderen uit Heintje's eerste huwelijk en nog 9 andere joden uit Scheveningen. Ze werden opgepakt en via kamp Mechelen naar Auschwitz gedeporteerd.
