Jetje Boektje-Pais

Jetje was the daughter of Benjamin Pais and Judik Spijer. Her mother and her sister Sara had a shop in hardware and drapery on the Frisian island Terschelling.

Judik Spijer got married Benjamin Pais in Harlingen on 18 September 1890. The couple had three daughters, Sara, Johanna and Jetje. Johanna died in Harlingen in 1892, four months after her birth. In 1914, Judik and her family moved to the island of Terschelling, where they lived under the lighthouse Brandaris. They opened a shop there, selling ironmongery and manufactured goods. Jetje Pais vestigde zich in Nijmegen op 13 oktober 1934, komende vanuit Oss. Zij trouwde met Abraham Boektje en samen kregen zij twee kinderen Jozef ( geb. 1923) en Judith (geb. 1925). Het hele gezin werd op 5 januari 1943 gearresteerd, tezamen met de 82-jarige inwonende Elkan Speijer.
