About Simon Philips and his family

Simon Philips was a son of Izak Philips and Eva Weijel. Simon’s parents married 26 February 1890 in Zupthen but passed already before the war. They had seven children in total. Four of them died at a very young age but Simon, Mientje and Saartje reached maturity, married but were killed in the Shoah.

Access is subject to authorization from the Stichting Joods Maatschappelijk Werk.The Jokos file reveals that a claim was lodged for compensation for valuables surrendered to the Lippmann-Rosenthal looting bank (L-claim, number 9264/12711).

The fate of Heintje Philips Rozendaal and her son Maurits Henri

Heintje Philips Rozendaal (Rozendal), a daughter of Markus Rozendal and Marianne Frank, was sent to Camp Vught op 9 April 1943, toghether with her son Maurits Henri. 7 Juni 1943 she was transported with her son to Westerbork and 8 June 1943 deported to Sobiobr, the so-called children transport. Heintje Rozendaal joined her son and they were both upon arrival there 11 June 1943 immediately killed.
