Leo Bohemen was a son of Nathan Bohemen and Betje Cohen. He was a travelling salesman for the firm of Levie Bros. Leo Bohemen was married to a non-Jewish woman. That’s why he had relatively high freedom of movement in the war. He helped other Jews to go into hiding. In December 1943 the ‘wrong’ superintendent of the police Elsinga was liquidated by the resistance. As retaliation six civilians were shot dead, including Leo Bohemen.
