Verhaal

Erich Joseph (Menachem) Levy

Door:

Menachem (Piefke) Levy and Morris Schnitzer escaped to Belgium in early July 1942. In Brussels they lived with Menachem's uncle while getting identification cards. Tehn they went into France, crossing at Tournai. From Lille they went to Nancy. From Maîche they found a place to cross the river Doubs to go into Switzerland. They made it into Switzerland. Then they were arrested by the Swiss police. Then, they were driven back to the French border and told to leave the country. While crossing back into France the Germans started shooting at the two boys. That was the last time Schnitzer saw Menachem Levy.
