About Abraham Salomons and his family.

(previously married to Luise's sister Gertrud Rom)

Abraham Salomons, a son of Simon Salomons and Sprins (Espérance) Wagenaar, was born in Amsterdam on 28 November 1893. He earned his living as a paper salesman. He married Gertrud Rom on 28 June 1927 in Amsterdam, who was born in Zurich on 12 August 1905. However, she died shortly after her marriage, on 10 September 1929.

Abraham Salomons then remarried on 26 February 1929 in Amsterdam with Gertrud's sister Luise Rom. She was also born in Zürich on 21 January 1907. With her, Abraham had four children: Trudy (25 Dec 1929), Mirjam (13 Jan 1935), Izak (1 Jun 1938) and on 1 January 1943 Riwka Chaja, who all survived the Holocaust, despite the fact that they were all arrested on 20 June 1943 during the large-scale raid and ended up in barrack 57 in Westerbork. They were deported to Bergen Belsen on 11 January 1944, survived the hell and have been able to return to Holland in Sepember 1945.
