Biography Porges, Jeannette (Jenny) Sara

Jeannette Porges was born on May 24, 1862 in Hamburg (Germany). She married Moritz Abraham (9-4-1852, Scheinsee (Germany)) who died on January 18, 1929. In January 1939, the widow Abraham-Porges moved from Hamburg to Van Beuningenstraat 5 in Rotterdam, where she lived with her daughter Ilse (see Victor). Her other daughter, Gertrud, also lives in Rotterdam, on Statenweg (see Gertrud Abraham).

In October 1940 they all moved (mother, her two daughters, her son-in-law and her grandchild Elli) to a boarding house at Matthijssenhoutweg 1e in Blaricum. From there they move together to Bussummerweg 33.

From Blaricum, Abraham-Porges leaves for Amsteldijk 84hs in Amsterdam on June 30, 1942.

Administratively as of July 12, 1943 - but in reality it must have been much earlier - she was deported to Germany.

Jeannette Abraham-Porges was murdered in Sobibor on March 13, 1943.

A Stolperstein was placed for her at Haynstraße 13 in Hamburg in 2014. She is also commemorated on a memorial at the Jewish cemetery Gan Hashalom in Vijfhuizen.
