About Vogeltje Hammelburg

Vogeltje Hammelburg was a daughter of Hartog Hammelburg and Klara Frankvoorder. On 3 December 1930 she married in Amsterdam Mozes Trompetter from Woerden, a son of Mozes Hartog Trompetter and Sientje de Jong. Vogeltje and Mozes had two children, namely Henri (Hansje) and Nico.

Afther her marriage Vogeltje and her husband moved 15 December 1930 from Amsterdam to Den Bosch where in 1932 and 1934 both her sons were born. On 4 January 1936 she and her husband and both her sons moved to their new residence at Wilhelminalaan 19 in Vught. On 4 October 1942 Vogeltje and her family were brought from her residence in Vught to Camp Westerbork. On 9 October all were deported to Auschwitz, where Vogeltje, Nico and Henri (Hansje) were killed immediately upon arrival there on 12 October 1942. Her husband Mozes Trompetter however was forced to do hard labor and lost his life eventually on 31 January 1943.
