About Abraham van der Sluis

Abraham van der Sluis was a son of Mozes van der Sluis and Schoontje de Wit. He married in Rotterdam on 12 August to the non-Jewish Carolona Maal, a daughter of Jacobus Maal and Christina Kenters. Abraham van der Sluis was a rag dealer. Between 1901 and 1924 from this mixed wedlock seven children has been born of whom in 1917 this appeared to be a stillborn babygirl.

Abraham van der Sluis passed away on 6 August 1940, three days after he moved from Schiedamsedaijk to West Varkenoordseweg 207b. The funeral records at the Jewish cemetery in Rotterdam reveal that Abraham van der Sluis was buried there.

The other members of the Abraham van der Sluis family have survived the war.
