Grietje van der Hoeden married Abraham Härtz on 10 August 1938. The couple had one daughter, Jetje.
In October 1942 Grietje van der Hoeden and her daughter went into hiding somewhere near the town of Ermelo. In March 1943 they were arrested and brought to camp Westerbork.
