Zoetiene Kaatje Benninga was the daughter of Simon Benninga and Sophia Zadoks. Her father was sent to a labour camp near Sneek. On 3 October 1942 the men were transferred from the labour camp to Westerbork. Their family members were brought to Westerbork at the same time, as were Zoetine Kaatje and her mother. At Westerbork Zoetine Kaatje married Louis Cohen. On October 9, 1942 all of them were deported to Auschwitz.
