Mechel Trachtenberg, a manufacturer, was a son of Samson Trachtenberg and of Reisel Hirschfeld, both deceased. Anna de Metz, a dress maker, was a daughter of diamond worker Gaim de Metz and of Henriette Cohen de Lara. Mechel and Anna were married at Westerbork transit camp on 10 May 1943.
