About Salomon Kat

Salomon Kat was married to Belia Komkommer. The couple had two children: Louis and one child who managed to escape to Switserland. In 1941 Salomon Kat and his wife were registered at the address of their son Louis. They lived however in Tilanusstraat 70 until they were deported.

In 1919, the Kat family moved to Antwerp, the centre of the diamond industry. Salomon built up a flourishing business there. In 1931, the family went to The Hague for a few months and then settled permanently in the 'diamond city' of Amsterdam.
