Naftali Silbermann and his family

The Silbermann family moved to Heerlen in 1933. In August 1942 the family decided to go into hiding. They soon were betrayed, arrested and transported.

The Police Commissioner of Heerlen requested that Naftali Silbermann, his wife Ryfka Lieberman and their daughter Debora Klara Silbermann be located, detained and brought in. They were suspected of having changed their place of residence without the required authorization. This description referred to Jews who had gone into hiding.
