David Cohen and his family

David Cohen and Perlina Hoogstraal moved from Amsterdam to Avereest in 1930. On 2 January 1941 they moved to Ommen. First they lived at Kerkplein 7 but from 11 February onwards they lived at Gasthuisstraat 20. David Cohen and Perlina Hoogstraal didn't have any children.

In March 1943 every Jew in the province Overijssel was ordered to report at camp Vught before 10 April 1943. They could obtain a travelpermit at the town hall. A report of their departure was also to be sent to the mayor.

On 9 April 1943 David Cohen and Perlina Hoogstraal left for Vught. With them were two children of German origin who untill then lived at Eerde were the International Quakerschool was situated.
