Therese is een dochter van Louis Leons en Dientje Vega. Ze trouwde 14 juli 1932 met Pieter Bouwmeester (24 jaar, tandtechnicus van beroep), zoon van Arie Bouwmeester en Petronella Barbara Helena Beukers.

Na de scheiding (feb 1935) hertrouwde ze 16 juli 1942 met Max Kurt van Leeuwen (Mulheim, 10 april 1897).
