About Bernard van Gich

Bernard van Gich was the son of Isador van Gich and Mietje ossedrijver.
In 1941 Bernard van Gich had to report at one of the Jewish labour camps in the Netherlands. He decided to flee to France, together with his wife. There he was arrested and deported to Buchenwald through the Compiègne transit camp. His wife survived the war.

Bernard van Gich and his family

The mayor of Zaltbommel requested that Bernard van Gich and his wife, who had violated regulations by changing their place of residence without authorization, be located, detained and brought to trial. The couple lived at 31 Gasthuisstraat in Zaltbommel and had been missing since 16 August 1942. This description referred to Jews who had gone into hiding.
