Simon Polak

Simon Polak, son of Philip Polak and Aaltje Nathans, has lost his life somewhere in Mid Europe on 31 March 1943. His sister Betje was killed in Auschwitz and his parents in Sobibor, however at different dates. Presumably his father Philip stayed as a patient in the pychiatric hospital Port Natal in Assen. Philip, Betje and Simon Polak were born in the hamlet of Schoonoord, in the municipality Sleen (nowadays municipality Coevorden). They are commemorated yearly in Schoonoord.
