Gerardus de Jong was een zoon van Abraham Philip de Jong en Bertha Leuvenberg.

Bertha was een dochter van Gerardus Leuvenberg en Duifje Leefsma. Duifje was een zus van mijn overgrootvader Heiman Leefsma.

Bertha is geboren op 5 januari 1865 in Gorredijk en op 4 april 1920 overleden in Amsterdam.
