Bernhardt Goldschmidt

Already at his birth Bernhardt was baptized.

Bernhardt took part of WWI as a Vice-Feldwebel and as Aspirant-Officer. Later he became the director of Felma, a factory in electro-mechanical apparatus, first in the Nymphenburgerstrasse 125, afterwards on the Briennerstrasse 31/32. After Kristallnacht the company had to be “sold”. Is was forbidden for jews to have a trade. In spring 1940 Bernhardt tried – without luck – to emigrate to the USA or the Phillipines. In September 1940 they lost their house on the Mechtildenstrasse 30/II. They went for a short period to Friedrich-Herschel-Strasse 9/O and on 30th June 1941 went to the Kyreinstrasse 3/II. From here they were deported on 20th November 1941(Magda’s birthday)to Kaunas, where they were murdered on the 25th.
